Hi,

The only downside of staying on the boat (sc35) for a long time, is the constant washing up.

Does anyone use one of those tabletop dishwashers on their boat?

How does it fill up with water - do you just pour it in somewhere?

There's no-where to properly store it on the boat however I might just be able to live with that if it does the job!

Thanks
Simon

A things I've come across, apart from a full size 60cm home d/washer:

1. As above but 45cm wide
2. Fischer and paykel drawer diswashers can be bought as a single drawer. See squadron 60, targa 50, among others
3. Front loading small dishwashers like the ones Fairline used to fit. I had one on my 1st Sq58. Although made as a table top it can be installed on a shelf in a cupboard behind a door so it looked much neater. Plumbed in permanently to water supply and drains. Small, but worked very well. All squadron 58s apart from the last 30 or so built had these in the cupboard under the sink. Google Zanussi ZDM16301SA or AEG F55200VI0

We have a small Bosch. Wrought about installing on our sealine 365 , but it would eat up too much storage space.
Water supply from 4 bar pump should be sufficient. I planned to run the drain to a sump fitted with a whale gulper.

The Bosch only uses 7.5-10 litres for a load, so I figured a 20-30 litre sump and the gulper would do well. I chose the gulper because of its ability to digest just about anything. On my old boat we had one - the strum box came loose and so was sucking straigth from the bilge. It eventually stopped pumpumping, when I cleaned it out is had two screws, a halfpenny piece and 40 years of bilge detritus in it. Cleaned it up and it was good as new

Dishwashers pump out at a fair rate. I would tap into the sunk drain. Shower sumps are not that big

We have a Bosch Silence Comfort drawer type dishwasher on board our boat which the crew tells me works pretty well. I think its a 45cm model. I was concerned about its water consumption but according to the water guage it uses about 30 litres per wash which I thought was acceptable
