Discounts for overwintering at Gouvia Marina?

So I popped along to the office today to sort all this out. The max they would discount was 10%. They refused to budge. I brought up that someone had been given both discounts and the woman said there was no chance, the max they do is 10% unless you're paying for a year's worth of berthing. She did go and speak with the others in the office, and that's the most they would do.
Couldn't be bothered to push it further, seeing as we'd decided we'd be happy with 10%, so all done now.

Though I would be interested to know how you got 14% off?

On another note - I have yet to visit a Port Police office since we arrived in Greece. There weren't any around the harbour where we first arrived and refuged from the weather for a few days, and now the Gouvia PP office has been closed every time I've popped by. Should I bother trying again or not worry about it as I have Gouvia paperwork?

The main Port Police office is in the ferry port in Corfu town. You may get more joy there - or you may not! My experience has been variable - they were very efficient when I had to get a Bill of Sale stamped, but never seem to have DEKPA forms in stock!

Is there any reason for me to visit a PP office other than to obtain a DEKPA?
And speaking of DEKPAs, I'm trying to work out whether we need one. I've read it only applies to boats over 10m. Though I've been told it's for boats 10m and up.
Our registration says we're 10.0m. Do we need one?

My neighbour is a port policeman in Gouvia Marina.

You're right about 10m and over... http://www.noonsite.com/Countries/Greece?rc=Formalities

Noonsite says it's over 10m for a DEKPA, so we shouldn't need one. Well, according to our registration, at least... ;)

So, Pauline, I don't suppose your neighbour mentioned whether I need to come and see him before we're planning to head out in the new season?

I expect you will get different answers depending on who, and when, you ask.

we tried to get Gouvia to match Lefkas but not interested so we are in Lefkas. We returned to the UK leaving the boat afloat there by catching a coach to Athens and flying back with Easyjet, recommend the trip as easy, spectacular scenery and simple took 6 hours with a half hour break. do it in daylight though.

Pauline,

Could you also see if you can get a schedule of his work hours at the marina office? I need to get my Dekpa stamped and endorsed "Laid up ashore" for the winteer. Gill went back yesterday and I am here till next wednesday to put the boat to bed. Lift-out tomorrow (Friday)
