Discount season for sails

HI,

I always think of November/December as a good time to order sails and get a nice discount but is there another time of year, say late Spring when the sailmakers can be tempted to sharpen their prices? Any thoughts?? I am thinking my old Genoa is looking a bit tired but I'd rather not wait another season.

I was told by a sail-maker that late summer/early autumn is a good time. Spring and early summer is busy getting ready for the season and maintaining all the racers - by late summer things have gone quiet. After the Soton boat show a lot of the sail makers are full-steam ahead to meet the new boat orders for the next season. But if you ask them yourself - I expect they'll tell you
