on another thread in 'The Forum' there is a discussion on the ability to continue Boating with personal Disabilites, usually 'muscular', 'joints', 'neurological', etc etc
well, I remember a skipper at Rochester who greatly impressed me, many years ago, if I recall correctly, his name was John and he ran a River M/L Motor Tug named 'HOBBIT' on his own
well John's disability was that he had no Hands, he used his feet to perform all and every function aboard his M/L and performed very well. 'HOBBIT' was moored off Rochester Pier, near the 'Rochester Cruising Club' mooring trots
as far as recall, John made a living by plying the 'Medway' river, towing, carrying goods / personel, and any other services that he was asked so to do
does anyone else remember John, I would just like to know what eventually happened to him (he would be long dead now I assume)
