Hmm - I did move the exhaust from the waterline amidships because everytime I went alongside a pontoon everyone got soaked!
It didn't used to leave any soot on the side of the boat either - I'm convinced that the dinghy creates some kind of vacuum or something which makes the exhaust circulate and stick to the transom - anyway, not a problem now if I paint it black!
