The interior ceiling lights on my Jeanneau need replacing - ideally with warm glo LED lamps. Ideally I would like them to fit into the existing holes - approx 40mm - sorry not on boat to make an exact measurement. However, they are a type of ceiling light that I see on lot of boats so presumably fairly standard? I need to replace the entire unit, not just the bulbs.

Does anybody know of a supplier or RELIABLE LED replacements. Happy to pay a premium price for a reliable solution.

We replaced ours with bulbs from Searolf. Google them. Very helpful and when I ordered the wrong Led bulbs they replaced them without question.

Unfortunately I need to replace the whole fittings.

A few years ago I saw a thread where somebody had found some non-boaty lights that happened to fit the holes perfectly. They even came with a 240v/12v transformer which one could use as a doorstop if I recall correctly ;_).

Unfortunately I cannot find this thread..

I've replaced all the ceiling lights on my Westerly with these adjustable recessed LED down lighters - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-3W-3-...lb-/350680741926?ssPageName=ADME:L:OC:GB:3160
They are slightly larger than your 40mm and a few mm larger diameter than the recessed lights on mine, but a few minutes with a file to open the hole up did the trick.
They look really nice and give a bright warm light, far better than the LED bulb replacements I used before.

Those look perfect. I will go down to boat tomorrow and measure exactly the size of the hole. Do you have a measurement of the hole diameter that is required?

A 1.5" (64mm) diameter hole allows a loose fit on the light and gives room for the spring loaded clips to pass through the hole.
If you did away with those, you could get away with a hole if diameter a few mm less.
