Dingy Launching Technique ..

It must have been a once only effort?

Once the engine had stopped I find it hard to believe that the starter motor, or indeed any other vital part of the elctrics, would work after being submerged in salt water.

Great video, made me smile,

I saw something like this at Ardfern about 10 yrs ago.

It wasn't that one but the twin outboards were in casings, I can't remember if they had snorkles or if they had electric motors for underwater, probably both. The seat down the middle was full of batteries and the crew had to wear scuba gear.

Bought an Austin Champ many years ago for a towing job( 45GBP, a snip). It was kitted out for submerged work, just short of the snorkles. There was a hand throttle, and I assumed one stood on the seat if it was deep enough, and steered with a foot. RAF friend said they used to rally them, gave it up because too many got killed by rolling them. Interesting feature was the F-N-R box that meant you could go backwards as fast as forwards. I managed 90mph F, but chickened out at 30mph backwards. Driving around London, even the black cabs kept clear..
