Dinghy's, pro's and cons

Re: Dinghy\'s, pro\'s and cons

Got "Sap Davits" on mine. Makes the use of the dinghy much safer.
Outweighs the "Risk assesement" ref the swimming bit. IMHO.

Re: Dinghy\'s, pro\'s and cons

in many places I would agree with your assesment but having been based on the Medway for a few years there is little reason to carry an inflated tender relative to Poole/Cis, Solent/Plymouth etc (and proably other normal places!).

On that basis I wouldn't bother to install them on Pete's boat. For the occassional summer usage 'down south' I can see the tender simply strapped to the bathing platform for the odd trip from bay to bay - 2 decent hooks on the underside out of the way will hold a couple of over straps to the transom easy enough and it, the bp, is so huge it will simply sit on it!

Re: Dinghy\'s, pro\'s and cons

Know what yer mean, cept with GC1,s history, thought it would be safer when attaching the outboard. Less chance of it being dropped in the oggin, with the tender attached to the snappies.
Unless oarpower is going to be the method of propulsion!
Can,t see "Gadget Man" sculling about the briny. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
