There is the Redshoot campsite near Ringwood in the New Forest and there is a water park/lake on the Ringwood to Salisbury Road. Will try and find out more for you.
- Not far from a pub called the Foresters which does Excellent home-made pies ! not part of a weight watchers diet ! :-(

Bewl Water is one of the biggest in the South
I am sure the club could accomodate you.
Alternately my group sail the Rother/ Military Canal once a
year and I am aware of others who do camping trips.
Then there is the Kentish Stour
(see Charlie Stock's Sailing Just For Fun)
The Swale might suit given a suitable launching point
which could be Harty Ferry or Kingsferry Bridge
Note rivers can be a bore if there are lots of bridges

I hope this may be helpful
Regards Briani

Shearwater on Lord Bath's Longleat estate might be an option. There is either the large campsite on the estate or a small one by the Bath Arms, Crockerton.

Shearwater is an interesting lake to sail... Lots of fickle winds makes for skillful sailing, but it is safe enough for the kids to be let loose. When the sailing gets too much there are the delights of Longleat and Bath to mention just 2 local attractions.

See Shearwater SC to contact the club re sailing permit

West Sussex county youth service and schools have access to 2 facilities - one on Chichester Harbour at Cobnor, brilliant but tidal, and another on gravel pits SE of the city of Chichester. Both run by Trusts now, I don't have the contact details. I have used cobnor as an "out of county" club.

The site you mention on old gravel pits at Chichester is, I think, the Southern leisure centre. Access is from the Bonor Road/Chichester bypass roundabout. A fairly large caravan site and a small lake, Vinetrow lake. A Google search will find it.
