Dinghy outboard service, no water.

My new old stock Mariner 2hp has always run like a sewing machine (odd analogy, sewing machines make a right clatter)
Brought it home, put it on the tank, starts 3/4th pull as usual. About to do some light lubing and finish when I saw no water flow.
So glad I wasn't in a tideway.
Afternoon spent digging jelly out of everywhere.
Confession time. Put it away without flushing.. (Assumed Preston was fresher than it is...)

the jelly.y is possibly salt. Get the same problem with my Malta. The water channels are so small they block easily.

I spent quite a bit of time with a screwdriver hacking around the barrel of my 3.5 Tohatsu to get it unclogged, but seeing the amount of 'sandy-salty-shite' coming from it made me feel really good!
