I'm in the process of bringing back into use the 10' GRP dinghy in which I learned to sail, a horribly long time ago. She's back on her trailer and looking smart, and I would like to get a cover made to fit her. Putting the mast up is easy, so a flat (mast down) cover is what I'm after. Has anyone any advice or recommendation on makers and fabrics?

In our club we have loads of dinghies with covers made by Sail register. My sail makers recommended them but said the grey covers, which are a little more expensive, last much longer.
Looking at the blue covers I wondered about asking if they could make a cover using the same material as they use for their labels. Many of the covers are faded but the labels are pristine!

I made a cover for my Mirror from what I believe is heavy duty black PVC sheet (although it might be polythene) that was used as a liner for an emergency water storage lagoon. I think the stuff is available as a pond liner. Its been in use outside for 34 years with no signs of deterioration although some minor physical damage as been repaired here and there with heavy duty adhesive tape.

Also found good for covering my tender when it's at home ..... black damp proof membrane. It's not deteriorated but has split where it was originally folded
