Hi,

North of the landing stage on the Eastney side of Langstone there are some dinghy chains visible on Google Earth (or at least the dinghys are visible, if not the chains), can anyone tell me who owns them and whether they are a better bet that those on the West side of the entrance ?

Thanks,

Boo2

I assume you mean by the ferry landing on the Eastney side?? Don't recall seeing any dinghy chains there...

Plenty of buried concrete blocks with chains attached - someone was digging one in only this week - generally think it's a free for all - but beware, on very high tides and with surges and wind the whole spit gets covered and any dinghies not securely secured (?) will end up floating or washed off.

Free for all moorings right opposite the Harbour Office ?!

These people will go far, probably in the back of a police car...

Yep - dinghies classed as tender to xyz vessel - free for all was referring to where one puts their dinghy, never had problem with HM regarding the spit.:rolleyes:
