Dinghy capsize in sully bay?

I was once involved in a very misreported non-incident (decided to camp for night rather than descend a very dangerous mountain ridge in dense fog, having all necessary kit with us - and the congratulations of the mountain rescue guys for a good decision- who didn't launch a search based on the wealth of info available from our home contact who correctly guessed this to be the situation).

Anyway, I'd be interested to know whether the dinghy sailors at any point requested or felt the need for outside assistance. I used to sail my enterprise dinghy from Cardiff to Weston or Barry in my teens - there was no need for a safety boat.

Laser sailors often sit on the centreboard for a rest, it may well not be nearly as dramatic as it looks.

I was sat on a turtled Fireball once and was quite suprised when the Plymouth lifeboat turned up. No just having a rest we told them, they politely asked us to demonstrate that we could right it which was a bit of an inconvenience - we had rush down our beer.

This sounds like excellent seamanship, the extra weight of the consumed beer would contribute to the righting moment and make righting the dinghy all the easier after your rest - a tip like that should be in the RYA books! :D

Couple of kegs each side lashed on then beer pumps just behind the mast.

Oh and back on topic Sully Island is up for sale for £98k and they are going to make it private. I've sat on the bottom of a mirror dinghy building up the enthusiasm to get her the right way up. I can understand though that if spotted from ashore it would be likely that it would be reported and may or may not be life threatening.
