A very pleasant evening was spent at the Five Bells, Hessett yesterday and I promised to reveal all

The food was excellent - beautiful steak, full of flavour and cooked to perfection. Very good idea to see the meat and choose your cut and the size. Accompanied by gooeys and salad and washed down with a few glasses... well you know how it is

Great to see Louise and Dave again, rushing around on a busy evening and loving every moment of it (well until the loo blocked!). They are really trying to do something different and high quality - they are succeeding

Keep it up Sixpi - looking forward to our next visit.

(P.S. - don't stay at the White Horse in Beyton unless you like sleeping on a plank hard mattress )

I have seen lots of posts here about the Five Bells at Hessett, but, as the only Hessett I can find is near Bury St. Edmunds, why is it of so much interest to yachtsmen?

Roger, apologies for the delayed response, been a little hectic here what with a beer festival and hog roast with barbecue weekend, and trying to get everything ready for this Friday, when our MP has stuck by his word and will be popping in to give us our final official launch. Press have been notified and even BBC Radio Suffolk have expressed an interest in attending. We shall see if they turn up however

Anyway, it was great to see yourself and I'm sure nobody will tell your wife about the young lady you decided to bring with you

Clive popped in on Sunday too, unfortunately the day after our beer festival when we only managed a few hours sleep before opening time was on us again. Hope our being knackered didn't make the visit less enjoyable Clive

Things seem to have gone to pot on here these days, it used to be a place where East Coast Contributors to the forum could exchange views and arrange things without anyone sneaking off to tell mummy someone used a naughty word, so in consequence, the result is I too am out of here. Stick that in your complain to mummy list if you like StorkIII, I'm out of here, what a result you've achieved. Two down, be all quiet on the Eastern front if this carries on

It must be something in the water, 'cos it seems to me that there are now more celebrated East Coast ex-forumeers than currently-active PC Tweetie contributors. Maybe there's a call for an ECRMF ( East Coast Retired Members Forum ), where the usual suspects gather to ask 'D'you remember when...?' and 'Whatever happened to....?' and 'Them were the days....?'
