You know how if you take a picture with a digital camera and then download it onto the computer, it shows you the time and date it was taken?
Well, I've nearly filled my logbook and rather than buy another I wondered if it would be ethical to just take a picture every hour of the gps and then load them into a word document on the laptop to show where we had been.
I suppose I'd need to make sure time on the clock inside the camera is more or less the same time as the one on the gps?

Just cross out all the dates in the old log that say 2006 and put 2007

Turn the book through 90º and write crossways across all the old entries. That'll save you at least £3.50 in Rymans.

Or raid the stationery cupboard in your august institution.

McMurdo Navtex will repeat your instruments and also keep a very detailed log at 15 minute intervals.

don't use Word - it is dreadful at handling images and after a few the file will be so bloated you won't be able to do anything with it /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

What you need...

...is an eidetic memory. Costs nothing. Bit of training required perhaps. Don't know if it counts as a legal document though.
