Prosser Scientific used to make two very useful instruments. A barometer and a tide clock. I've searched for a web site for them but without success. Does anyone know if these are still produced and if so where to obtain them ?

Found 'em in a 7year old chandlery catalogue. "Tide Clock Tidal Data Predictor" and "Weathertrend Digital Barometer" at £160 each. but they seem to have sunk without trace.

Were they made by Prosser Scientific Instruments, Lady Lane Ind Estate, Hadleigh, Ipswich, Suffolk, IP7 6BQ Telephone: 01473 823005 ?

Vic,
I don't think they are made any more. I managed to get a 2nd hand one for £20 a few years ago, and even though it was made quite a few years ago, the tide data is within 5 to 15 minutes of UKHO times.

£160 new, /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif and I thought I was paying over the odds at £20!! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

I've got the prosser digital barometer bought second hand - in fact it was Alan Watt's own. It's fine and will give you a read out for the previous 12 hours and trends, but I don't see why it would be considered better than a modern digital one. Nor worse for that matter. I think this kit just gets cheaper every year.
