Does anyone have any ideas on what I can use to remove an oil stain on my Treadmaster (diamond pattern) deck covering?

I've tried Jiff (Ciff) and recently some "Starbrite" non-skid deck cleaner. These have not helped much - I just have a "clean" stain now!

Cheers,

Jerry

I have used "Brake cleaner" to good effect, to remove stains from teak. I would think that you might carefully try some of this. Available from most car accessory shops? Try a small area that doesnt show first, in case it reacts with the adhesive bonding material.

Thanks...

I've tried white spirit (as suggested by PVB) with no effect. Brake cleaner seems worth a try - I think this is based on trichloroflouroethylene (sp?) or "trike" (had dire health warnings if I remember correctly!!), and was the main constituent of an industrial de-greaser/cleaner called "Ardrox" which I used years ago. I'll get hold of some and give it a try!

Cheers,
