diesel repowering

with the writing on the wall for red do you think volvo will adjust their premuim on their engines?
eg repowering for say 190hp range in petrol could be approx 9k, in diesel more like 18k, both with same/similar duo legs. why do the charge so much? you could buy a brand new very decent car for that.
