Dolphin

Did you get over to Braye last weekend - was the dolphin still there. I hope to bring Blue Fisher across to Peter Port on Thursday, weather permitting. Will you be around?

Yamaha make a diesel outboard, I've only seen them in Africa, but I'm sure they are available elsewhere, the ones I know are 27 HP, but are big heavy beasts, I do beleive ther are other people who make them, but not for sure. Yamaha also make a parafin one for third world. This question has come up before on this forum I think!

Re: I\'ll second that

Thanks for all the responses re diesel outboards; I was considering one as a backup - which is the reason for the fuel.

diesel is available every where and fuel consumtion is better, this of couse gives better range. also safety is much improved.Engines will probably be heavier, noisier. more expensive, more reliable.
Ive seen adverts from the following makers:
Selver
Yanmar
Ruggerinni
Climax (as in Coventry Climax )
Yamaha
The Yanmar was reviewed by either Motor Boats Monthly or Motor Boats and Yachting a couple of years ago try a search of past articles.
