Thanks all for a number of good suggestions. Basildon would be the nearest to me so I'll start with them.

Just be aware that there are several technicians at Basildon.
First time I went I got a really helpful bloke who guided me through the technicalities even though I didn't understand half what he was telling me.
Second time I got a miserable old geyser who was only interested in proving that he knew more than I did.

The bloke with his glasses held together with sticky tape can be a bit iffy
