I've been very stupid, purchased a NEW 2 stroke petrol generator and accidentally put the wrong fuel in. I didn't read my own labels on the fuel containers. Tried to start it and after 10 pulls I realised my mistake! I tipped the generator over to drain the tank.

Added petrol 2 stroke and tried again, still no luck. I'm assuming it's still in the carb? I know nothing about petrol generators, any help locating the carb and draining would be appreciated. Here's a photo of the generator, I've found one on ebay:

Thank you!

OOps indeed.. Looks like you will need to do some spannering. Remove the plug and operate the pull start a few times. Dry the plug if oily and put a few mls of two stroke into the cylinder. Pull slowly at first (possible hydraulic lock) but it should start and run briefly. Doing that a few times should draw 2S from the tank. The Chinese little square 2s gennys have a drain screw on the carb bowl, can you check yours?

Sorry I'm completely thick!
Remove which plug?

Also there's some access ports I'll Try to post pics later on
Thanks for your help by the way mate.

The spark plug- will likely be hiding under a rubber cap, with a thick cable going to it. Pull that off, and use a deep socket or plug spanner to remove the plug.

By the way, and apologies if teaching to suck eggs, but I noticed on your other thread that you'd mentioned running a genny on the boat- it's not that long since a family died aboard a boat because the exhaust fumes got into the cabin, so, erm, take care :)

Pics 2/3 show the spark plug which needs to be removed (probably) as previously mentioned.

Pic 1 shows the intake which looks just like the set up on those little gennies I mentioned so I think you will find a drain point (a small slot or cross head screw) behind the plastics at about 4 o clock and 3 cms ish from the intake hole
stockimage_4.jpgSimilar carb, drain near bottom , bottom bolt removes bowl.

Drain the carb as described by removing that little screw. I'd then flush it through with a squirt or four of two stroke & fuel mix into the air intake and let it flush through...

Then pull the L shaped rubber thing off in picture three - remove spark plug. Dunk it in a bowl of clean unleaded. and leave to dry. Then take some fresh two stroke & fuel mix in a syringe and inject it into the spark plug hole. Then tip out. Repeat a couple of times. Gently turn the engine over with the plug out (watch where the lead is - it may spark and if there is fuel spilled about it will burn!)

Replace plug and HT lead.
