Diesel Fuel in Russia

A Finnish sailor I met told me that it is possible to buy diesel fuel at the entrance to the Saimaa Canal -- without clearing Russian customs. But at Russian prices, which are 30% to 40% less than the price in Finland.

I'm in the market for about 600 liters of diesel fuel, and I'm not so far from that location -- anyone have any experience with this?
