I have replaced primary and secondary fuel filters on volvo d2-55. Bleeding via the secondary filter took quite a while during which the primary filter started "singing" albeit quietly! Eventually fuel appeared and job done. The engine started immediately but when i stopped it the filter started singing again for a coouple of minutes. I removed the bleed screw and could see that the fuel level had dropped and it took more bleeding to fill again. The primary filter is 2 feet above the tanks - could the enoise be air being drawn in as the fuel falls back to the tank? Could i fit a vacuum gauge to the top of the primary filter to ensure all reamains air tight?
