i think the photo is of the Mercedes W115 200D.
Made 1968 - 1976.
54 HP. 0-100kmh 31 seconds.
Top speed 130kmh.

It would cruise comfortably at 130kmh, but would take many many kilometers to get up to that speed.
When I was in Germany in mid 1980's there were still quite a few of these on the road.

They were driven foot flat on the floor and they would not move over or give way to any one once they had got up to speed.

Fairly typical of many, if not most diesel cars back then, If you wanted performance, you got a 280.

Would I be right in thinking they were designed for the taxi market? Certainly there were a lot of them doing that job, running up some pretty astonishing mileages when 60,000 miles was decent going for lesser beasts
