Perkins 4.270 lift pump on its way out. There is an in-line electric pump already fitted. 1) Could I bypass the lift pump and straight into pre-injector pump filter?
2) Would that deliver too much fuel/pressure?
Thanks

is your fuel tank higher than the engine? and using the electric pump will not be
a problem unless it is high output as you will only need 4 or 5 psi to feed the inlet
and I say this as I removed the lift pump from my cummins and put a small facet pump 4 psi inline but my fuel tank is 20 inches above my inlet, in fact it works without the pump just fine as well.

well if that's how its been you should get a new lift pump really because
if the electric pump fails then its no go.

I think this is over pessimistic. The Facet pumps are extremely reliable, and most cars use electric fuel pumps. They must be just as reliable as mechanical ones imho.

They may be reliable but they still need electricity... One of the reasons diesel engines are preferred on boats they run independently of power supply - failure of which is the most common reason for petrol engine becoming disabled.
