diesel battery charger

am using small aircooled Yanmar 4hp to charge batteries got a water cooled exhaust but still a lot of noise...thinking to experiment with some kind of enclosure and forced air ie bilge blower vented outside for cooling...any ideas or advice would be appreciated....thanks

How is the exhaust water cooled, I'm intrigued? You could use a big blower to cool it in an enclosure, sucking the air out of the enclosure, with a vent in, but it will still be fairly noisy. The large vetus 178mm blower should suffice.

Yes thanks for your reply the exhaust water is,nt cooled its a simple steel pipe welded to a flange that bolts on to the exhaust outlet the exahust is about 1 inch dia. with about a 1/4 inch inlet welded on for water injection...the water is supplied by a small electric pump ,the water is carried by the exhaust gasses through a fiberglass aqua lift...guess the project will continue to be trial and error till I get it right.....
