Diesel and Deck shoes

It depends exactly what kind of finish the leather has but saddle soap is always worth a try + won't harm

Re: pooftah!

You should wear red diesel on your deck shoes with pride! This is your opportunity to go and visit other boaties, splish some red diesel about, or pointedly take them off because you have some diesel onnem, and then retell your tales of how the diesel got there in the first place. You shouldn't remove the diesel, ever: on my shoes for example, i have some blue paint from the fuel dock at Toulon, and i won't be taking cleaning them, no sirree. I remember once I was in portugal on a fuel dock there and blah, drone, yak etc. See?

Re: pooftah!

How did you get blue paint from the fuel dock at Toulon on your pumps?

Re: Toulon

well, see, we went very early in the morning, and as it was also quite early in the season the fuel dock attendant was painting the floor with garage paint but hadnae put up a sign saying that he was painting the floor, hence when i landed, sploosh erk damnit. Actually, it was wehn i was scrambling around looking to see how much copper was left on the boat, i think.

This is much more intertesting than getting some white spirtit to clean it off, i think...

Keep a pack of Lava Wipes on board at all times. Worked wonders when an oil extraction pump exploded all over my new timberlands. /forums/images/icons/crazy.gif

OK, give us a hint about why you are suspicious? Diesel on footwear in no way relates to the ways in which to remove dyes from diesel. If you want to know how to do that.......
