Quiz at Windsor last night between the 'old' TVR clubs.

It is traditionally a key objective to lose as the winner has to organise it next year.

Bray finished up with two teams and the Bray One contingent did a sterling job of coming second behind Windsor One.

Mind you, it was also very much a Forum achievement as the team was Apollo, Brayman and Boatone with associated swmbo's and sprogs.

ChrisD was also present and tried hard to keep Oxford Ditch in the running but ........ Mind you, they won last year and rumour has it that the questions were set by a certain Pheran, also of this parish - he wasnt there tho' probably at home stirring up mayhem on The Lounge :D

Oh, and Ramage and No_Regrets failed to show although I believe Ramage, in spite of it being his birthday, was on late shift so had some excuse....

The Ditch was playing a very skilled and strategic match to finish in 2nd place but missed it by one (3rd) mainly due to me not knowing as much about trainspotting as my daughter:D

A very entertaining evening, a tribute to Pheran's prowess at setting questions that were not easy and not hard, but quite devilish.

The trophy is engraved as the Five Clubs Quiz which is the most accurate it has been in about 15 years with Bray, Harleyford, Windsor, Oxford Ditch and Upper Thames taking part.

Congratulations to all who took part, a close run thing and Windsor's turn to provide the questions next year, what good hosts they are.

Made a change to get a go at the Rebellion Ale that is normally totally consumed by those Ramage boys.

Good evening, and was good to see Plumbob and DaveBig as well.

..only one question on Contraceptives, where was No Regrets when we needed him?

Congratulations Windsor!

I cannot tell a lie - twas I. Lady P and I would normally have come to the Quiz, but since I had set the questions, we clearly couldn't have sat with the Ditch (or any other team come to that) so would have had to spend the evening propping up the bar. Once upon a time, this wouldn't have bothered me but now...........Anyway, we also managed a forum-themed evening in that miket, I and our better halves took ourselves out for a very pleasant meal locally.

Thank for those kind words, Young Sir. I hope I got the level somewhere near right. Too easy or too difficult has exactly the same result - peeps get bored! Anyway, did anyone know what hogget is? :)

Yes, as I was marking their answers I know that at least the winning Windsor team did, don't know about anyone else.

Thanks to all for last night, it was good to put a few faces to "handles". I did think it could have been warmer at TWYC...............perhaps I could have removed all , instead of just the top 3 layers. Good fish and chips also.. Well done all.

I lost a pub quiz to the question "Where do most women have curly hair ?"

Apparently the answer they wanted was not what I said. Correct answer was "Africa"
