Did anyone go sailing this weekend

Just wondering whether anyone went out say in the more Sheltered water of the Solent on Saturday to gain some heavy weather experience.

Just wondering whether anyone went out say in the more Sheltered water of the Solent on Saturday to gain some heavy weather experience.

I took my new boat from Lawrenny to Milford Haven on Saturday. Under power all the way. First four miles in an hour, second four miles in three hours, arriving at the lock gates 30 seconds too late. I've had more fun.

No, but out in the Solent on Sunday, with the top end of a F4 from the SW for most of the day and calm sheltered water even with wind-over-tide (notwithstanding the Met Office forecast of SW backing SE 5-7, showers, rough, etc). Aside from the racing fleets, didn't see more than a small handful of cruising yachts. Left 2 reefs in the main and the Yankee half-furled (novices on board) and still bowled along at 5.5 knots. Lovely sailing!
