Hey, I have an issue and hoping you could point me in the right direction. I have DPH-A drives mated to D6-350's. The issue is on the starboard-side trim. When I enter "beach-mode", it seems to be blowing the trim relays both up and down. This has happened twice.

I replaced the relays and it initially worked but my finger slipped off the helm-station trim button while it was still in beach mode. i tried it again and it then stopped working. I suspect the relays are blown again but I didn't have another set to test. What do you think my problem could be?

Also, it should be noted that the trim worked just fine when operating in normal ranges with no blown relays. Seems to only be an issue when entering beach mode.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I didn't have exactly the same problem as you, my trim circuit breaker would just blow whenever the trim was used, beach mode or just normal trim, but it turned out to be the circuit breaker itself that was faulty. This is the large red button breaker that's mounted on the engine block near the oil filters on my engine (d4 260)

Apparently it's a fairly common fault, they need replacing every few years. A new circuit breaker was about 50 quid from a local chandler's.

Okay, that definitely could be my issue. I will look at that and report back. Thank you.

@julians, did you replace the wires from the circuit breaker too?

Okay, just to close this out. It turned out that my trim motor was bad. I removed the entire unit including the trim motor, hydraulic pump, ATF reservoir, etc. Gave it a good cleaning, replaced o-rings, installed the new motor (Arco 6232), added a bit more wire so had some slack to work with, and installed new relays. She's working great now. The new motor is so much quieter than OEM. It's slightly slower than OEM but after performing trim calibration they settle in at the same trim angle.
