This is a 4 year old pump cover plate inspected and polished as part of an impeller replacement. It is a Jabsco part and specified in brass. Not pretty and I will be replacing it. It would be not possible to see the dezincification without polishing it as when it came off it was heavily tarnished on both sides. A check worth doing I think. Why they chose brass for this part when the body is in bronze doesn't make sense to me.
