Development in Cardiff Bay - next door to CBYC

"We hope Cardiff Pointe will provide an exemplar residential development. Not only one that reflects Cardiff's current status as a capital city and a capital of culture, but also one that will hopefully set a blueprint for future development in the city."
Nothing that Cardiff planners have approved in the Bay in the past has come near to his aim. Why will this be different?

"We believe that Cardiff should aspire to world-class and environmentally friendly residential design, and that high-quality design and living accommodation should be readily accessible."

"Cardiff Pointe will provide a sustainable community offering a broad range of accommodation to suit all."

Roughly meaning a close mix of low cost housing and high value properties close to each other. What could possibly not work out?

I really like the look of the low rise property that is shown in the BBC article. A development of exactly similar houses in non developed land around the Bay would be great. However, a 23 and a 27 story tower block is not the way forward.

I would like to see all development halted until all existing half finished "Mogadishu" buildings are either finished or demolished. I can't really see how any developer could build a 27 story building and complete it in the current and foreseeable future. Therefore, how can Cardiff City Council sanction it?

This is Cardiffs blueprint for the future?
