Detroit 2-stroke Diesels - idiots guide wanted

Anyone know of a simple 'idiots guide' for these 2-strokes?

'Long' time ( late 70s) since I saw/operated one of these.

If my memory is correct it had a rootes blower and the fuel injection system was a combined pump/injector.

Very simple fuel guzzler but they made/make a lovely noise.

Try a search for manuals on google or ebay?

Detroit 2 stroke diesels are still common engines in all sorts of machinery including boats. Another forumite, Divemaster1 has a Detroit equipped boat. Maybe worth a PM

Been busy and away a bit...
Got two 6/71 TI's myself ... Got 880 pages of Service manual on CD ... and know a fair bit on tuning and servicing.... Simple engines to work on ... just need to do things in the right order to get it sweet .... Lovely engines .... some thirsty ... but only if more than 60 HP / per liter is taken out....

Anything I can do to help ??
