had to fight against the weather on Friday, but Thursday was a cracking day! Interesting place down there and a lot of friendly folk. Am hoping to be there on Wednesday as a tug is due for launch after a refit. Will be down there detailing a nice Hunton with hopefully the weather on my side (not that it looks promising)

Considering im supposed to be building a portfolio of pics i took one:eek: Maybe im too stuck in my ways of my trade where pics are not required. Did a full interior/exterior and the chap was very pleased (so was i) This is something i could really get into as i think having a passion for something enables you to produce better results and to maybe not charge as much as its what you enjoy.

On the tug, the props must be 5' tall and looked to be made of brass or bronze? I can see how the two of those churn up the water that once caught me out! Cummins are due down to give the 650HP engines a once over next week, and if memory serves the welder said the max RPM was 1600:eek: Obviously massive torque!

Here is the only pic i took, shame as the interior had the fake teak flooring and was moldy but came up looking like new. I did find it was very easy to mark, suggested to the owner to see if some make of sealer is available.

Whilst down there my new boat turned up...happy days!

Hopefully while down there i will find a few more boats to detail, think i have found what i really enjoy doing at the late age of 45:eek::eek:

Not actually that huge, KTA 19-650 just over 2,800 lbs/ft at torque peak but flat as a snooker table, around 1900 lbs/ft at idle, peaks at 1500 rpm and still over 1,800 lbs/ft at max rated speed of 1,800 rpm.

Probably big SAE O flywheel turning at least 3:1 reduction box, despite torque, those big wheels make the motor grunt when testing crash stop astern.
