OK. Cape Maclear on Lake Malawi. There's a bloke there has a catamaran - far right of the pic - for charter. I think it's probably the only cruiser boat on the lake which is 365 miles by 52 miles so biggish. Lots of opportunity for peace, tranquility, etc and it's relatively underdeveloped so great for those fed up with excess electronics, coloured charts (not sure there are any at all of any hue) and certainly no TV unless you mount Joddrell Bank on the pushpit! Ooops seem to have drifted into a different post, sorry.

Looks like one of the Greek Islands, to me. But I can't pronounce their names..... not after 007 and a half vodka Martinis, stirred but not shaken.

Yeah, kind of - but only near villages and reeds. Along sandy beaches and off shore - almost certainly not a problem. I spent 10 days in it, off and on, as well as childhhod years and have never had it. If you do get it it's not difficult to get rid of either. They sell cures over pharmacy counters in Malawi.
