Dervaig channel

bellachroy is a decent pub------never saw anyone coming up to dervaig by boat-----foreshore looks muddy

My dad is pretty certain he saw a schooner in there in the late 40's/early 50's. He cannot remember how far in. looks worth an explore anyhow... Please let us know how you get on?

(His scout troop used to push a cart from the ferry to Tobermory, camp for a fortnight in one of the fields overlooking Tobermory, and generally roam the island.)

yes, i went in there with a kayak. the channel was seemed deep and clear down the middle but there was a strong tide flowing 4-5 knots.

Thanks very much, all. As it turned out we were able to make a flying visit to Tobermory co-op on the community bus and we are now well stocked up. Dervaig goes on the "to-do" list.
