Depth through hull Sensor

Few Q's

1) do you antifoul your depth hull sensor every time you paint the bottom.

2) How much is too much A/F on it to stop it functioning.... or does it matter.

3) How should I strip the old A/F of my raymarine st60 sensor..... Scrap / dillunet (SP)

Since mine works quite happily through the fibreglass itself, I reckon a few layers of paint shouldn't present any problems.

Only issue I can think of is aggressive solvent in the paint dissolving the plastic transducer, though this doesn't seem to have been a problem on my log fitting.

Buy a small pot of water based antifoul designed for the job and give it a couple of coats, it will not affect prformance at all. Solvent based A/F as used on your hull is a no no.
