As the transducer is fitted inside the hull , Do many people use the keel or waterline

offset facility ?.

I.E. Waterline = + offset. Keel or bottom of rudders/ Sterndrives = - offset.

I did at one time, but now dont offset. I just know the outdrives need at least 60cm, and set alarm at 1.8m

I use the waterline offset to give actual water depth. I find this makes comparison with chart more straightforward.

Think i will also use the waterline setting , and remember i need 1 mtr !

I have mine set the same because......if i have a "novice" at the helm, if i hear the alarm, i know i have time to takeover......or...TAKE THE BLAME !!!!!
