Depth sounder has stopped working(will not stay switched on). If I have a new unit by a different manufacturer will I have to go through the hassle of changing the transducer as well. The old unit is an Incastec which was OK but seemed slow updating the display. Well, thats my excuse for going aground.

Most work on a similar transducer, and i think that the NASA units should drive an yours - check with NASA Marine. If you have a GRP Hull you could always fit one internally either direct to hull or in an adaptor tube filled with castor oil...

I would suggest asking INCASTEC if this unit had a 150 Khz transducer rather than asking Nasa. INCASTEC = ECHOPILOT and I think they are into the US market and may be using 200 Khz transducers
