Deposit paid - on my way to the survey

A little update on the latest developments on the boat buying front.

The whole family travelled over to Southampton on the Mar 21th to spend a holiday there (and to view the boat I've now paid the deposit on). We enjoyed the beautiful weather, visited many marinas and overall had a great time. Coming from this remote part of the world, it felt like living in a constant boat show. Beautiful boats and all things boaty everywhere. Very nice.

And the boat we came to look at was pretty much what we hoped it would be. The survey took place last week and the final details are being negotiated, so I hope an agreement is found and we'll get to close the deal. I'll get back to that later.

In the mean time, I thought I'll post some misc pics from our trip:

Princess

I have seen a good looking Princess for sale in my local boatyard. A friend tells me the asking price is less than 200k Euros. Shall I get more info for you ?

Sounds great. Are you going to cruise her back to Finland?

Unfortunately not this time...

I don't want to give boating a bad name now by leaving the wife with two small kids for two weeks :)

Plan is to take her on a lorry to Harwich and from there by ship to Turku. Still leaves me with a bit of delivery at this end, though.

Quite a few balls still in the air before everything is set.

That's a shame, I did a trip from Hamble to Oslo many years ago, great trip.

Princess 45

So it turns out the Princess in my local boatyard is a 1988 45 ft.

It has been owned by a Greek Naval Officer for many years and looks perfect inside and out. The Officer now retired wants 75,000 euros for a prompt sale. Looks like a good buy for someone. Now ashore in boatyard in Leros.
