Have been offered a fibreglass 26ft sailing boat however i believe it has been "squeezed" as has three dents on hull, anybody know of fibreglass repair method, or is this even possible ? also it is double skinned ?

My Merlin had 'dimples' where the chain plates are attached to the hull, it is a known Westerly characteristic and mentioned on all previous surveys as a cosmetic manufacturing defect.
A fibreglass repair specialist was able to fill and fair the dimples using gel coat.

Unfortunately these are not small dimples but large, what i would call flat dents, one the size of outstretched hand.

If you have been offered the boat for nothing, then you have nothing to lose.

If, on the other hand, there is a cost involved, be prepared to lose the money if it doesn't turn out as expected.

Dents in grp are generally not a good thing.

Almost certainly repairable - can you see any damage from the inside? My own boat has been painted to cover up some damage on the water line but there is no cracking and the filler is still firmly attached after nearly 20 years in my ownership.

If the gel coat is cracked or crazed around the dents then you will probably have to cut out and laminate a new section. It is not difficult and well within the realms of DIY. You should find YouTube tutorials on the methods, BUT in the tradition of the media some may be good, some not so good, and there may be some positively unhelpful. I learned the old fashioned way - from a book and reputable magazine articles.

As to if the boat is double skinned, we need more info and possibly pics to help with this.
