Hi Guys anyone currently out in the Med, we are coming out at the weekend and looking to head in to San Antonio, heard there are now mooring boys there and spoke with the Marina and for a 15M boat they cost 55 Euros, anyone used them as you can't book them?
I would prefer to use the Marina as need to collect but unsure how busy it is there at present as generally you can not get in this time of the year but the new boy system may free up space in the Marina?

Any other useful tips welcome, as looking to move on to Mallorca by the end of the week.

We were in Ibiza last week, it was very busy. You can book official buoys here http://www.balearslifeposidonia.eu/index.php?register_vars[lang]=en . Three locations, Salinas on Ibiza, Espalmador and Sabina on Formentera; 30 euro for 15m. The first 2 can both be exposed to ferry wash. I didnt know there were official there were buys in San Antonio bay; but it is a good anchorage. Not sure how long you plan to be at buoy or anchor but be aware access to water can be difficult. Normally possible to get a Marina birth but need to call on the day, once in they seem to allow you to extend the stay. It's a brutal July/August premium; for 15m expect €300 versus €60 in June !!

There is a weather buoy in the middle of the mainland/Ibiza channel. This site gives you an hourly wave height, wind speed etc. http://www.puertos.es/es-es/oceanografia/AccesoSimplificado/Paginas/Tablas.aspx

Enjoy !!

Agree with NGM. It is 6yrs since we left the Balearics but even back then, marina charges in Ibiza were just plain outrageous in high season assuming that you could even get a place. We were quoted €375 per night for a 15m berth in one of the Ibiza Town marinas. You should reckon on spending most if not all of your time there on the hook. We did find it a little easier to get into the marina on Formentera on a couple of occasions in August but I couldn't say what its like now

Thats an excellent weather site been using several others thanks.
