New to me. Has anyone bought one, or have any views on them. Particularly interested in the 20 ft trailer sailer.

Cheers

Deltania Yachts

Hi, I know a fair amount about Deltania. I purchased a new 22s in April 2007 and keep it on the Hamble for sailing around the Solent. It is virtually the same as the Viva 700. I am in frequent contact with the MD of Deltania. I saw the 20ft in their showroom but I've not sailed it. They now have another yacht called the Deltania 20.5 which is a totally different design. I would be delighted to assist you with any queries you might have.

Regards.

Deltania Yachts

Hi Saddletramp,

I own a Deltania 22s which I bought new in April 2007. I've been very pleased with her and sail her on the Solent keeping her on a swing mooring on the Hamble River. Fine sailing, excellent room inside and cockpit for the size compared to everything else I've since. Swing keel rises up inside of cabin table via external line to winch which is easy, quick and tidy. I tow her with my 2 litre estate. Options I specified include: genoa, lazy-jacks, "wood" floor, extra cabin cabinets, Origo sea-toilet, cock-pit table, shore-power (never used), twin-axle trailer (just in case of a flat) and 4 hp Mercury outboard.
The only addition I've had fitted since is a auxilliary petrol tank to give some extra range. Feel free to contact me directly at stuart.fray@sky.com.

Regards

I saw a Deltania 20 at close quarters this summer. I have never seen a boat with so much freeboard! It is definitely built for high internal volume.

Having sailed small lightweight trailer sailers over a number of years I would be very cautious about sailing such a boat in anything but very moderate weather and in very sheltered waters.
