Great video showing Delta Dore sailing with a small jury rig after being dismasted in the Southern Ocean.

Nearest habited land is Port Elisabeth (South Africa) 850 miles to the north west.

Quite a scary thought really.

Getting interesting out there: one out with a broken mast, one struggling to get to Cape Town to retire with another broken mast, and one going to Cape Town to get broken rudders repaired, I begin to wonder how many will actually finish this race.

Is it just me, or is the coverage from the website nowhere near as good as the coverage of the Volvo and the like. It seems that there is a real lag in information flow (in addition to the deliberate overnight holdup), and the race viewer is not as good as the one they use for the Volvo either.

Ah well, a few years ago and I would have had no idea where anyone was, now I'm getting picky about the graphics....
