We have a somewhat elderly example of the above and the time has come to undertake a little remedial action. Th rubbing strip on one side has become detached from the hull. It sems to fit on to an aluminium? moulding which is riveted to the hull. The aluminium moulding has degraded to the point where it is now useless. Anyone any idea where I might be able to obtain a relacement?

I may be worth looking around for a write-off. I have had a clients who have holed them to the point that the core becomes saturated. Despite being marketed as unsinkable, once the skin is pierced, these boats seem to be like sponges and a salvaged one might be a good source of parts. There was one going green on Burnham-on-Crouch high street last time I looked, though I don't know who owns it.

Well it may not still be there as it's a year since I was last there, but it had certainly been there for a couple of years before that.

Thanks very much. We're off to the boat for the holiday, so I shall rip off part of the moulding. I have to visit Burnham shortly and wiil trot up to Maldon clutching my somewhat tattered example and hope the nice man can supply me with some new bits.

Thanks again to all who responded.
