On wenesday afternoon i called dell sevrice as my bluetooth stopped working, and useing infa red connection was heavy on the phone battery,

On thursday MORNING TNT arrived with a new PDA and collected the old one!!.

I had used my PDA to check email everyday enjoying the instant start up (no delay)The service was so fast i wonderd what they had brought untill i saw it was DELL.

That must rate as the fastest and best possiable service for any manufacturer anywhere!! I will buy a laptop from dell now i have room for one,to use seaclear and store data.

I have been useing a DELL X30 PDA while travelling and living on board my Baltic folkboat as a laptops just to big!
Ive been useing GPRS with Bluetooth and the 624 processor made email and posting as fast as from any PC,and with the wi-fi ive been able to use the internet as if i had a full size PC!

Thank you Dell for first class after sales servive

Maybe after 10 more such messages I might be willing to give them another try, until then I'll stick with the knowledge of my own experience with DELL, which is why I buy HP and SONY

Sounds very impressive /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Are you still sailing round the Sweden area? I'm in Karlskrona today, but setting off in a couple of hours for Bornholm, heading either to Poland or Germany, will decide which in the next day or two. By the way, there's free WiFi in the marina here in Karskrona too. I also discovered that Wayne's Coffee has free WiFi (they're all over the place in Sweden, bit like a Swedish Starbucks) - I'm not sure if they all have free WiFi, but it's worth checking if the local marina doesn't have it. Save some of your GPRS charges!

Company I work for has just switched back to Dell, after a 2 year dalliance with Toshiba. Not sure of the reason for the switch away, but unfortunately, the Tosh kit didn't seem to be able to stand up too well to the rigours of field use (bouncing around in the boots of cars driven by Ayrton Senna wannabees). Anyway, I waited until they switched back before ordering a new laptop, and the Dell D610 I now have is fab. 2Ghz, 2Gig RAM, 100G HD, and a screen you need a magnifying glass to see properly. Hmmm.

No idea on overall big picture stats, only about the batches that were purchased for our group. It could well be that we were unlucky with a duff batch where the trackpads went erratic after 18mths, and that all other Toshiba kit that has ever been sold is perfect. I don't work on the purchasing/support side, so if you say Toshiba is generally more reliable, then I'm sure you're right !

Waynes! I havent used them as theres quite a good choise, but i do try to find a coffee place which has wi-fi from somewhere!not always a sucsses.Be nice to know the connection WILL be there!
I will look them up online that would be really good to plan my crusing around a coffee shop, which i will if there are enough of them.

Ive seen a toshiba libretto which costs a bit more than the dell 12inch screen laptop but is half the size, screen as well but a natural progression from a PDA! for Folkboat crusing.
