How long does the panel consider a delivery (35ft Yacht) would reasonably take from Athens to Marseille?

a) With a full crew doing it as quickly as possible.

b) With a small crew (2-3 persons) Port hopping as far as practicable, but pressing on as quickly as possible.

Obviously weather could effect duration by a significant margin. Suggestions for best time of year would also be welcome.

Thanks, Vic

I brought my 37ft catamarran from Leros just off turkey to Sete in France at easter. I sailed non stop apart from one day in Bonnefacio. It took me 10 days in winds force 2 to 7 .

A quick check on the charts revealed that it is about 1100nm... Going as quick as possible, it should be possible in two weeks, weather permitting. Going a bit slower and stopping here and there, I would reckon 4 weeks.... However, in winter both the Thyrennian Sea (in south) and the Golf du Lion can be nasty stretches of water.... I would go in spring if I had the choice - not too hot, and some wind.

Just had a lok at the charts - it's about 7 days and 6 nights sailing assuming you can average 6 knots. Possable do it in 6 days if the weather is right but you would probably need to stop for fuel somewhere along the way (twice probably) as thre is either too much wind or you'll be motoring.

Other than the direc troute then it can take as long as you like............................. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
