Dehler 370 1983 Van de Stadt

Unusual cabin top, never seen one before. That model does not feature in the Van de Stadt list of designs, might it be a one off based on another earlier boat?

Scrub that, possible I just found it, it’s potentially design 292. Not for Dehler, seemingly.

Is yours a steel boat?

I know it as the Dehler 37 as that is what my parents bought new and named her Deceptive. The 37 was originally built in Holland, but ours was the first to be built in Germany. When Deceptive was sold , she was heading for Portugal.

She was a very nice boat to sail and wish I had bought her at a very attractive price, but I had just ordered a new boat.

Had a message from a Dehler 372 owner also built by Van de Stadt in 1983. He was also having trouble finding anything on the net…

Just found the 372 on Sailboat data site.. seems to be identical except for a different sail configuration.

Doesn’t look like a 37 to me.

You are wrong, it is definitely a 37. Dehler may have used an extra digit for marketing purposes as if it was a new model. I will try and find some photos of our 37.

I am trying to find proof my Boat ‘Orca’ was in Germany on 1st January 1993 (for vat exemption) I’m unable to contact the owner at this date. Any ideas?

Why do you need that "proof" of something that happened over 30 years ago? Has the boat been in the EU since then, and has it changed ownership in that time?

Finally located the original brochure for the Dehler 37. There are all high resolution photographs to ensure they can be read. Do download copies for your on records. Currently I have not located any photographs of our Dehler 37, but when I find them I will add them.
