One for the north wales mob :)

Looking to drop a new to me boat in at deganwy off a low loader so I can bring it back to Isle of Man.

Any tips greatly recieved. I have spoken to them and only thing that concerned me was they can’t lift in if the wind is strong....which affects them a lot.

Any other options in the area? I know Conwy is the other side. A better option?

your over thinking it,
would you want to be put in the water in strong wind ?
I was put in the water at deganwy in march, it was no big deal,
Conwy and deganwy are 200 yard apart and lift at the same height.
just go for it.

If you need B&B for the night before, my Mum-in-law has one in a lovely location in countryside in the Conway Valley, very peaceful ;-)

The Staff at Conwy and Deganwy are very proffesional
The lift at Deganwy is a little more difficult to move a boat when the wind is a bit strong
IE , there is a little less room to manouver when the tide is out
The 'Lads' at both places are expert by the way

Puffin Island to Douglas is 54 miles
4 miles extra from the Conwy safe water mark
Plus add a bit for dodging Sea Monsters and all the 'Terrors' of the Irish Sea:eek:
:D:encouragement:

Thanks Kwackers. I had it 58 odd miles from Conwy. Might end up being Whitehaven but it’s a pain to get there....unless by boat ironically:) Might cadge a lift with a local boat. Have to see how things pan out :encouragement:

Once you pass St Asaph you'll be tarnished for life. You may have to stay. Many temporarily stopped at Conwy never to leave. :encouragement:

I was born in St Asaph but emigrated to Rhyl when I was 5 days old
That was the first mistake
Then Married a Nurse from St Asaph hospital (H M Stanley, after said Explorer) that was the Second mistake
Started a motorbike business in the same City
That was no mistake
The now married Nurse had a 125 Suzuki, which she had bought with her own money
She was a bit pregnant at the time and said her Suzy had poorly lights
So I took it to our new workshop, corner shop type dealer ship in Rhyl by then
To fix said dim lanterns
It was outside amongst the used bikes for sale
A Man said 'How much is the Suzuki 125'?
In a flash he owned said cicle!
Proceeds deposited in the till forthwith
Wifey never saw a shilling
But times were hard
She still moans at me to this day
She has never realised what a favour I did Her
I mean she was preggers and could have fell off and the eldest might not have been born
I have been So good to her over the years
Her parents where rich too
Yes, as Bruce says
Beware the Encapturing Net that descends after the Conwy Tunnel
Has been known to ensare the innocent!
:D
