Deck stanchions/bases

I'm replacing all my deck stanchion bases 2 of which have visibly cracked. The stanchions themselves are ok and I'd like to reuse them but they're dull and slightly pitted all over with more obvious marks where things like the spinnaker pole have been rubbing against them. Old bases are some sort of light alloy, stanchions are solid anodized aluminium.

Is it ok to fit these into new stainless bases (with stainless securing bolt) or do I have to source some ally ones? Can I clean up the stanchions at all? Will a light abrasive or polish affect the anodizing?

Risk of corrosion I would have thought unless you can isolate them somehow with a sleeve.

They won't be a tight fit so fine with a drop of Lanoguard or similar smeared on before assembly.

I was planning on using Duralac but wondered if the constant slight movement would render it redundant.
